Gemotions

He was trying to appear casual, but a fine sheen of sweat coated his brow. His smile felt fixed, unnatural. The atmosphere, a blend of sunshine and the smell of old things, felt wrong. He scanned the scene, seeking the rare item he sought, but something else caught his attention. There, on a blanket, sat a bear with a missing eye. The bear looked directly at him. His breath hitched. Time seemed to slow. He felt a powerful urge to run, to escape the memory that the bear so clearly evoked.
